One of the best holiday destinations on the East coast as it offers something for everyone.
Originally a spa town it grew rapidly during Victorian times and subsequently became the head quarters of the Tuny fishing club. Where once the rich and famous would come to fish for these giant fish that roamed just off shore. Visit the free museum and be amazed.
Scarborough has 2 beaches separated by the rock upon which sits the castle. Shelled by the German Navy in the first world war the biggest threat nowadays is the summer tourist. Take a trip along Marine Drive and watch the scenery change from toffee apples, candifloss and one armed bandits to open sands peace and quiet and cliff walks - all within 30 minute walk.
Dine on fresh fish and chips just off the main strip and you will not be disappointed. However if its peace and quiet you crave why not explore just inland down Forge Valley and you’ll be amazed at what beauty lies just on Scarborough’s doorstep.
