SOUTH DALTON
Typical of the villages with the “3P’s” ie a “P”ond, a “P”ub and a “P”lace of worship it has all the right ingredients to make it what it is - a beautiful village nestling in an idylic setting on the the Wolds. The village revolves around Dalton Hall - the residence of Lord Hotham.
Surrounded by parkland or open fields South Dalton is typical of the many pretty villages that you stumble across every few miles in this unspoilt, unexplored countryside.
Make time to visit the church, although not as fashionable as the “big boys” ie - Beverley Minster & St Mary’s - it is no less spectacular. I won’t spoil it , so go inside and be prepared for a surprise.
After which why not stop off at the Pipe & Glass for a pint and maybe a bite to eat.....
If you follow this up with a swim in the pond you can say you have visited all 3 attractions.... mmm’ lovely!
As its only 4 miles to THE WAGONS why not take a nice walk home whilst you clear your head and dry off....... Unless its January & 3 degrees below, in which case why not head straight for Beverley where the local hospital is located ..... as you will surely need it!....
